Different Strokes Swim Team is San Diego's uniquely supportive and welcoming organization benefiting the LGBTQIA+ community to foster fun, well-being, and health through sport, competition, and social events as a member club of US Masters Swimming. DSST promotes swimming as a form of exercise and lifelong friendships regardless of age (18+), gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability. Outreach and support to LGBTQIA+ communities continues to be an essential element of our mission.
Joining
We are a USMS Masters swim team open to swimmers of all levels -- from first-time swimmers to experienced competitors. Anyone can join who is age 18+ and who can swim at least one length of a 25-yard pool. And we offer a one-month free trial to all new recruits! Our full guide to joining the team can be found here.
Schedule
We currently offer 6 practices per week to our members at locations across greater San Diego -- including 2 days per week (Mondays and Saturdays) at the BBMAC facility! Dates and times are subject to change, so please visit our website for the most up-to-date schedule.Contact
