University Teams

Teams from national universities find BBMAC in Coronado, California as one of the most preferable places to train.

Weather is certainly a draw as the average highs vary between 65 °F (18 °C) and 76 °F (24 °C) with lows not much below 55 °F (13 °C). Another important draw is the safety of the island. Because Coronado is physically separated from San Diego and because it’s a community of families, there are few chances for trouble to be found. Further, Coronado is less than a 20-minute drive from four major universities. Lastly, San Diego International Airport has flights to every major US city and is a 15-minute drive from Coronado.

Many university coaches feel their annual trip to train at BBMAC is a turning point in their season as a team and allows their swimmers to gel and bond. It also allows for intensive two-a-day workouts that can be mixed with cross training on one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the country!

Beyond weather, safety, and ease of transport, Coronado is easy to navigate, affordable, and quite comfortable for all visitors. For more general information about training in Coronado please visit our Train at a World Class Pool in Paradise page.
